Do you have crooked teeth or a faulty bite? Your dental specialists first choice would probably be braces. Commonly made of clear plastic, ceramic or metal, these dental appliances can straighten the teeth or address bite problems. Its a good thing that bulky metal braces are no longer the first option as there are removable, virtually invisible aligners now available.

In line with teeth-straightening and bite-fixing, headgear was once an option to address orthodontic issues. It looks very medieval as the gear is fitted onto the head with wires attached to the teeth. Thankfully, this traditional option has been replaced by the more popular orthodontic innovations.

If youre missing teeth, dentures are the first thing that comes to mind to replace them. Dentures can be full or partial. A good alternative to dentures would be dental implants. These artificial teeth are secured to the jaw via surgical insertion.

When a tooth is gradually being lost to decay, the best way to stop further deterioration is with inlays or onlays. Formed to the tooth, these dental fillers can be matched to the color of the tooth to achieve a more natural look.

Dental crowns perform the same thing as inlays and onlays they cover the teeth to prevent exposure of the sensitive nerve endings. Crowns are a favorite option when a dentist needs to salvage a damaged or weakened tooth while improving its look. On the other hand, veneers are great for hiding chipped or broken teeth. These thin ceramic-type pieces are used to cover teeth.
